Information Center Volunteer, Edith Deegan, Grosse lle was recently
recognized at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Annual Community Service
Awards, Saturday, June 25, 2011, Hines Park, Dearborn Heights. The
award ceremony was held at the Annual Wayne County Senior Fun Fest.
Edith Deegan received a Claude Pepper honorable mention certificate for
her individual efforts and work with the senior community. The Claude
Pepper award is presented to a retiree volunteer over the age of 55; in
the working category, the award is presented to a person of any age
employed in the senior advocacy field.

addition, The Information Center accepted the Diana C. Jones, honorable
mention certificate which recognizes organizations for extraordinary
volunteer community service work which benefits older adults.
