In essence, long-term care is "the assistance provided when a person is not able to care for one or more of his/her activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, mobility) that is a result of a prolonged illness or disability." Sounds simple enough, then why am I confused? Long-term care takes many forms. Because it represents such a broad spectrum of services, it is no wonder that it creates confusion along the way. Our job is to make it simple, and to tailor it to you. As you plan for yourself or a family member who may need assistance now or in the future, we can be your guide. No question is silly. Knowing what services to ask for is not necessary. All you need to do is describe the situation, and we will help you find options that best fit your needs, current and future. In addition to individual help, The Information Center has a public presentation available to groups of individuals who want to know more about long-term care. To arrange for a speaker to visit your group, club, or organization, please call (734) 282-7171. We will arrange presentations around your schedule.
